Empowerment

My teaching philosophy revolves around empowering the individual student to have the facility and agency to accomplish their goals in music. I put a strong emphasis on cultivating the craft of flute playing through a routine of fundamentals and etudes. I believe that through this flexibility and technical virtuosity, a player will be able to convey their emotional expression with ease.

As a teacher, I have taught in several mediums ranging from remote teaching to in person, and from individual one-on-one lessons, to large ensemble and chamber coachings, and masterclass settings. I have made appearances as an educator at the Peabody Preparatory, the California State University of Fresno, Skidmore College, Chabot Community College, and am currently a teaching artist through Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect.
